Who are we?

My story

Hi! My name is Nalina Sutakul. I'm mom to my son Naples, born in December of 2018. I work hard to support my family. When my business partner, Tawapitak, approached me in 2022 to help him sell vintage sports cards and stickers on eBay, I knew nothing about these products. (Like all girls, I'm more into fashion and makeup, you know what I mean.) But ever since my son was born, all my focus has been on giving him the best possible future I can give him. And when my beloved mom was diagnosed with colon cancer back in 2018 (a few months before my son was born) and passed away in April 2020, it was like my whole world had turned upside down. We spent a lot of money for my mom's treatment and I had been struggling financially for years since I gave birth. My husband is in the Royal Thai Air Force and his military salary is not really enough to support our family. So, when this eBay opportunity came, it's like a blessing from Heaven. (Deep down I believe it's my mom's work! She loved me so much.)

Why my business partner approached me

Tawapitak is actually my old friend from high school in Thailand back in the 1990s. He is a long-time collector of these products and is very knowledgeable. But his English isn't very good. Not good enough to communicate effectively with customers. I, on the other hand, am an English teacher. Born in Thailand, I went to high school and college in the US (University of Washington). I love Europe, so I studied Italian Language and Literature and European Studies for my Bachelor's degree. Then for my Master's degree I studied Teaching English in Canterbury, England. And then I came back to teach English in Thailand since the early 2000s. 

So Tawapitak thought I would be perfect to communicate with the customers from all around the world. And I really do enjoy it. 

Why our shop is called Naples Vintage

Having travelled abroad a lot with my family from a young age (my dad is a pilot for Thai Airways; he's retired now), I have always enjoyed traveling and immersing myself in different cultures and traditions. I'm also very passionate about beautiful objects and old-world architecture, especially that of Italy and Europe in general. And Italy is my favorite destination and I love the city Naples for its vintage charm. So I named my son Naples. And that's where my shop name came from. Because he is the reason I am doing everything that I do. He is my WHY.
